The Club was formed with the aim of bringing together breeders, exhibitors and fanciers of our rare breeds and to educate the public on their attributes as companions. It was also felt that our breeds needed representation with thegoverning bodies and that we needed to promote our breeds and provide education to judges.
At our inaugural meeting on 19th January 2009, our foundation committee was elected with Gerri Greig as president, Pia Kirke vice president, Robyn Bennett as secretary and Joan Harrison as treasurer. Lindsay Bolden and Cheryl Doig were elected to the committee.
We invite you to travel through our website and add any comments on our Visitor’s Page. We would love to hear from you.
In 2009, our year of incorporation, the club held four members’ competitions, utilizing the services of 13 aspiring judges, and we took part in the Big Day Out for Dogs at KCC Park in December 2009. This provided the public with many opportunities to see our breeds up close, both in show trim and pet clip. We are having our inaugural Open and Championship Shows on the 21st August 2010 and will be holding our AGM on the next day at KCC Park come along and join us. Also we will be holding a further Members’ Competition. We, also, took a stand at the Pet Expo at Caulfield Racecourse in February 2010 which was a great success.
If at any time you are able to support the club at any events please contact the Secretary and let her know what you can do.
Also we are always looking for support in the way of trophies or any donations. Please contact Joan or myself Pia.
